Flow Bodyworks
Abdominal Therapy + Medical Massage in Grand Haven
At Flow Bodyworks, your treatment is never routine.
Abdominal Therapy and Medical Massage are rooted in anatomy, nervous system awareness, and deep respect for the body’s natural ability to heal. Each session is shaped around your history, your goals, and what your body is asking for that day.
What exactly is Abdominal Therapy?
-
This work supports the body’s journey toward homeostasis by encouraging flow through the nervous, arterial, venous, energetic, and lymphatic systems. Because the abdomen holds so many vital organs and connective structures, this area can influence digestion, pelvic function, reproductive health, low back comfort, breath, circulation, and overall well-being.
A session includes specific external massage of the full abdomen and low back, stretching and joint mechanics through the pelvis, hips, and sacrum, and attention to the spine. Rikki also provides guidance for home practice, helping clients better understand their own body and participate in their healing outside of the treatment room.
Meet Rikki
Rikki Schaphorst is a licensed medical massage therapist based in Grand Haven, Michigan. Her practice blends medical massage, Abdominal Therapy, yoga-informed movement, conscious breathing, and client education.
Through 500 hours of yoga teacher training, Rikki developed a deeper understanding of body mechanics, breath, posture, and the nervous system. That foundation led her into medical massage, where she continued studying anatomy, manual therapy, and the many ways pain, tension, movement, and stress show up differently in each body.
Her work is warm, specific, and collaborative. The goal is not to “fix” you in one session, but to help your body move toward better function, awareness, and flow.
